A hand for Haiti


Puerto Principe. A powerful earthquake rocked Tuesday southwestern Haiti and Dominican Republic, causing widespread devastation in Port-au-Prince and nearby provinces. Early reports indicate that a hospital collapsed and people crying for help, according to authorities and witnesses said.

UNICEF is deploying clean water and sanitation supplies, therapeutic foods, medical supplies and temporary shelter to Jacmel and Port-au-Prince. UNICEF will also be focusing on children who have become separated from their families to protect them from harm or exploitation.
